Teakology combines the beauty and characteristics of teak with the artistry of beautiful design to create extremely elegant and expensive custom wood interior spaces. What We Do: We are a designer and supplier of amazing interior spaces. We offer our services to wealthy homeowners that are looking for the most elegant interiors that money can buy. The way it works is customers call us, we come out and look at their space and then we design custom wood doors, beams, cabinetry, panels and anything needed to transform the space into something that is amazing to see and comfortable to live in. The entire process takes several months from consultation to project finish. As an added selling feature, the materials we use in our designs are 100% sustainable from an environmental standpoint and are a very Earth friendly choice for the buyer. What is teak? It is a very strong and durable wood with a compelling visual appeal. In comparison to more common woods, it is rare and expensive. Logo Communication: We want the logo to be a simple word form. That means using hand drawn or computer typefaces create a logo out of the word “Teakology”. The design of the typography should balance elegance and simplicity. Logo Design Goals: We don’t want the logo to have box or ellipses or lines that bound the logo nor anything that is not part of the word form itself. We want the logo to be easy to look at and easy to understand and reflect the quality of the brand it represents. We prefer a contemporary feel to the logo much more than anything retro, “old timey”, old west or Victorian. Logo Design Imperatives: Only solid colors. No gradients, no shadows, no fine details. This logo will be used on web and print materials but also monogrammed on clothing and wrapped on trucks. Specific Design Themes To Consider (feel free to pick one or do something unique): • Using an interesting handwriting style or calligraphy, the word “Teakology”. • Using letterforms that reflect an earthy, natural or organic feel break the word up so “Teak” part uses different lettering than the “ology” part which might be more structured and precise. The two parts would form one word with no spaces. • Use a Wood Chisel as part of the T in Teakology. • Make a visual play with the “O” in Teakology to reflect sustainability and recyclability. Much of the teak we use is reclaimed wood from buildings and boats so is technically a recycled material. • Anything original or interesting you can think up. Things we do not want: • Anything with wood grain photo incorporated in the logo but graphical representation of tree rings or wood grain is fine. Just no logos that include photos of wood in shape of word. • We prefer something that does not have fine details or gradients that will not read well from a distance or small. Be strong in your design.
