Description and What We Do: Welcome all you designers! This project is created for the purpose of designing a logo that will represent a new, highly unique, portable medical device, designed for individual/private use. The following text is the "conceptual document". It describes the product for which this logo is being developed, as well as the logic behind the choice of the name "SomaPulse". Use this text as your baseline for your design ideas. We are introducing a biomedical device into a technology field occupied by a number of other devices. The technology domain is pulsed electromagnetic field stimulation (PEMF). This device is highly unique in that it provides complete portability along with extreme miniaturization compared with traditional PEMF devices being used in clinics or home environments. Most devices either treat portions of the body or the whole body at once for 10 to 30 minutes. This device is small enough to sit comfortably in any pocket and treats specific body parts like organs, joints, teeth, etc. 24 hours a day. The small applicator rings are only two inches in diameter and can be placed on either side of the knee, for example, to support the body to completely rebuild the joint over a period of months. It begins working the very first day and stimulates the body to produce stem cells used to rebuild all body parts. Even though it is placed in a specific area needing treatment, it benefits the entire body in that the stem cells produced will be used throughout the body, not just at that specific place of application. Think of a tiny high tech, thin box, half the size of a cigarette pack with two small wires extending two feet out with two inch diameter rings at the end of each wire. This device replaces equipment that can cost anywhere from 5000 up to 30000 dollars. It will be available for less than 1000 dollars in the market place. (there is an image attached to this contest of one of the prototype models) Many of the devices in this domain use PEMF, wave, pulse, mag, bio, cell, etc. in their names. All of these indicate that there are basic actions in the body relating to the stimulation provided by these magnetic fields. There is a competing area involving static magnets, often referred to as magnetic therapy. Broadly speaking, we are also classified as magnetic therapy, except that we use dynamic magnetic fields, PEMFs, versus static magnetic fields, magnets. Unfortunately, magnets refer to both pulsed magnetic fields as well as the static forms. This creates a tremendous confusion in the marketplace. Typically, the static magnets are much lower in cost. The static magnets do not penetrate very deep into the body and therefore do not create strong whole body, i.e. soma, effects. They would be more likely to stimulate tissue or organ effects, but not whole or large area body effects. Also, they do not penetrate the entire volume of the body, even if applied locally We chose the name SomaPulse to represent what our portable pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) device does. It uses a “pulsed” electromagnetic field, dynamic, to stimulate the body. That is, it is not a static field, i.e. that does not move. A fridge magnet is static, i.e. it does not move. Once the material is imprinted to produce a magnetic field it remains there forever. That is, it is static. A dynamic magnetic field, changes with intensity and time. Therefore, it has frequency and intensity aspects. On top of that you may consider how much of the body is exposed and the waveforms used. All PEMFs use waveforms. And, there are many – square, sinusoidal, sawtooth, neuronal cell shape, single pulse, etc. SOMA definition The word "soma" comes from the Greek σῶμα, meaning "body". We primarily use the term “soma” to refer to the entire body of an organism, i.e. whole person. That means that these PEMFs affect the body in many layers and levels, down to the level of the atom. Another way to conceptualize this is the separation between mind/psyche and body. However, that still goes to the concept of the whole. Because this applies to different levels of conception of wholes, everything is still part of a “whole”. A whole may be a universe, planet, consciousness, body, organ, tissue, atom, etc. PEMFs stimulate all the levels of the body. Since they are externally applied, penetrating all the way through a body, even through clothing, bandages, braces, etc., they are extraordinarily dynamic in stimulating the body at all of its levels. I usually conceptualize therapies as affecting five levels: tissue, chemistry, physics, quantum physics, and spirit. It's my belief that the PEMFs stimulate out all those levels. What I wanted to focus on is the three levels that most people can understand, physics, chemistry and tissue. This of the mass of the population. Even here we are stretching to get people to think about physics. Quantum physics is more of a challenge. In quantum physics we are talking about thoughts and ideas and energy patterns that are very subtle. Unfortunately, these more subtle energy patterns are very subject to disturbance by surrounding events, such as, emotions, cell phone towers, televisions, computers, microwave ovens, etc., etc. The focus of our PEMF, i.e. the SomaPulse, is from the physics level down to the tissue level. In stimulating the soma, we are affecting everything below that level, down to the chemistry and the physics. Actually, we are primarily affecting the physics, which then cascades up to affect the chemistry, which cascades up to affect the tissue. From a time perspective, we affect the physics first, then the chemistry, then the tissue. Therefore, there are generally lag times in the amount of time that it takes to achieve effects tissue level. If a problem in the body exists at the energy level, i.e. the physics level, then results can happen dramatically and very quickly. Normally, however, things are layered with much more complexity. That means that in any given problem and body, you will have all three layers involved. The physics level will respond quickly, within minutes to hours. The chemistry level will respond in days to weeks, and the tissue level will respond in weeks two years, depending on the regeneration capacity/cycling of that tissue. So, I use the term soma to refer to the whole body and whatever is within, down to the atomic level. Essentially soma means collections of events, that result in a specific event, energetic, physical, cellular, or organic. Even an atom has a collection of events. From there you can go to the different levels I mentioned above. To conclude, from my perspective, Soma includes the whole body and everything within. If you touch a piece/part of the body the whole proceeds that touch. Any experience with in a part of the whole affects the whole. Therefore, PEMFs applied to any part of the body affect the whole. Therefore they affect the soma. Somatology is the study of events in a body. Obviously a body is formed of all of the events down to at least the atom level, and with more emerging concepts even the subatomic level. Therefore, SomaPulse, is a PEMF system, employing dynamic, pulsating electromagnetic fields that are strong enough and with enough differentiation of the frequencies and signal form to significantly affect the soma from gross, i.e. macroscopic, to atomic, effectively always in a positive direction

Welcome and Thank You for Choosing LogoContest.com!

Here are some helpful hints to make sure you get the most out of our site, and your contest.

1. Please rank your submissions or post general comments a minimum of 1 time per day while your contest is running. This is required should you want to request an extension to your contest and will produce the best results from our designers.

2. Once your contest receives 40 design concepts, your prize amount will become "Guaranteed".

3. Please make the most out of our messaging and comment systems.

a) Place general comments on this main contest page to give all of the designers your preferences and what you would like to see or not see.

b) Clicking on any designers submssion will bring up a page of all submissions by that designer with an option to post private comments pertaining only to his work. (Only the contest Holder and that designer can view and post to this page)

c) Clicking on the designer username under a submission will allow you to send a completely private message to that specific designer.

4. Please "Eliminate" only those logo designs that you feel have no chance of winning your contest. (Be aware that eliminating everything may discourage participation from the designers.)

5. Please rank the designs 1 to 10 and there are also options to rank Elements you like, Colors you like, and Fonts you like. This will help guide the designers toward the design that you are looking for. For the best variety of designs, try not to keep the same design ranked #1 for an extended time as this may result in copying of that design.

6. We require that you do not ask one Designer to use elements or concepts from another Designer. The general rule is that, if a Designer was the first to use and submit the idea in one of their designs, they essentially own that concept or idea for the remainder of the contest. We will remove any deisgns that use copied concepts. Requests or ideas you have put in your Contest Brief or posted as contest attachments are fair game and open to everyone. Concepts that are considered obvious will also be fair game, for example: a dog & cat for a pet hospital, shopping bag for an e-commerce company, a tooth for a dentist, initials for a lawyer, etc.

7. Once your contest ends and is in judging mode, any revisions to designs that you request from the designers can be emailed to support AT(@) logocontest.com and we will enter them into your contest for you.

Discussion Guidelines:

1. Designers and Contest Holders please always be respectful of each other, we all have the same goal.

2. Please do not criticize any design publicly, these discussions should only be held in private.

3. Designers may not post any external links to any designs.

4. Please do not ask a contest holder to view your designs or discuss any other designs.

5. Designers can not discuss copied designs on the contest pages and may submit a Logo Dispute to the Admin only.

Our team at LogoContest.com as well as our designers will make sure you are 100% satisfied and want you to leave here with a design that you love!

Please recommend us to your friends and business associates for all of their logo design and web page design needs.
