Contest Holder Name:  Atticus10248

Company Name: New Mexico Chapter of the American College of Trial Lawyers

Company Slogan:

Description and What We Do: The Lady of Justice converted to reflect features associated with the State of New Mexico. The Lady of Justice is typically shown wearing a robe-style gown, blindfolded and holding the scales of justice in one hand and a sword in the other hand. Conversion of the Lady of Justice to New Mexico style might include clothing such as cowgirl boots and hat, a broomstick skirt, a Western vest with fringe or tassels, a concha belt and a squash blossom necklace. The scales of justice might be holding red and green chiles or small pieces of Indian pottery. The other hand might be holding a red chile ristra or a law book. The background might show an outline of the State of New Mexico and/or a hot air balloon. Hot air balloons which participate in the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta each October often have logos on the balloons. The figure might be titled Senora de Justicia.

Revision to Entry ranked # 1 - change Lady Justice's top from sleeveless to full length sleeves. Revision to Entries ranked #2 - # 5 -change the color of the blindfold from white to either black or turquoise and the hair color from blonde to black or brown. If the change of hair color necessitates this - OK to change the color of the cowgirl hat.

Submission # 12 is the closest to the idea I had in mind. See posted comment from 8/5/14 for suggested revision. Entry 15 is good with regard to the items Lady Justice is holding but the colors are more typical of the Flag of Mexico than the State of New Mexico. Entries 16 & 18 show only the scales of justice. The idea was to depict Lady Justice holding the scales, converted to "Santa Fe Style".

Entry # 12 is getting very close to the idea. Suggested revision: (1) move the scales of justice away from Lady Justice's body so that the scales are more clearly visible; (2) Have the name of the organization all in the same type size with the order reversed so that it reads: American College of Trial Lawyers
New Mexico Chapter; (3) While the red and green clothing colors might work, let's try it with turquoise colors for the skirt and black for the blouse/vest.

Entries 8 - 11 are getting closer to the idea I had in mind. The head-to-toe depiction of Lady Justice is good but the scales of justice need to be more prominent and should hold items such as green & red chiles or small pieces of Indian pottery while the other hand should be holding a chile ristra or a law book. The name of the organization needs to be displayed. Finally, Lady Justice should be blind-folded.

None of the first 7 entries capture what I had in mind. Please show Lady Justice - New Mexico style - from her cowgirl hat to her cowgirl boots wearing an outfit that includes a broomstick skirt, concha belt, squash blossom necklace and vest with fringe or tassels. The scales of justice which she is holding in one hand can hold red and green chiles or small pieces of Indian pottery, while the other hand can hold a red chile ristra or a law book. The background can include an outline of the State of New Mexico and/or a hot air balloon. The hot air balloon can have a logo on the balloon envelope - perhaps with the name of the organization - New Mexico Chapter of the American College of Trial Lawyers. There is a poster popular in Santa Fe which captures the idea. It is called "Another Victim of Santa Fe Style"

Welcome and Thank You for Choosing LogoContest.com!

Here are some helpful hints to make sure you get the most out of our site, and your contest.

DO NOT FINALIZE YOUR CONTEST UNTIL ALL REVISIONS ARE MADE AND THE EXACT DESIGN YOU WANT IS SHOWING AND SELECTED.

1. Please rank your submissions or post general comments a minimum of 1 time per day while your contest is running. This is required should you want to request an extension to your contest and will produce the best results from our designers.

2. Once your contest receives 40 design concepts, your prize amount will become "Guaranteed".

3. Please make the most out of our messaging and comment systems.

a) Place general comments on this main contest page to give all of the designers your preferences and what you would like to see or not see.

b) Clicking on any designers submssion will bring up a page of all submissions by that designer with an option to post private comments pertaining only to his work. (Only the contest Holder and that designer can view and post to this page)

c) Clicking on the designer username under a submission will allow you to send a completely private message to that specific designer.

4. Please "Eliminate" only those logo designs that you feel have no chance of winning your contest. (Be aware that eliminating everything may discourage participation from the designers.)

5. Please rank the designs 1 to 10 and there are also options to rank Elements you like, Colors you like, and Fonts you like. This will help guide the designers toward the design that you are looking for. For the best variety of designs, try not to keep the same design ranked #1 for an extended time as this may result in copying of that design.

6. We require that you do not ask one Designer to use elements or concepts from another Designer. The general rule is that, if a Designer was the first to use and submit the idea in one of their designs, they essentially own that concept or idea for the remainder of the contest. We will remove any deisgns that use copied concepts. Requests or ideas you have put in your Contest Brief or posted as contest attachments are fair game and open to everyone. Concepts that are considered obvious will also be fair game, for example: a dog & cat for a pet hospital, shopping bag for an e-commerce company, a tooth for a dentist, initials for a lawyer, etc.

7. Once your contest ends and is in judging mode, any designer that is ranked #1 #2 #3 #4 or #5 will be able to upload any revisions you request. Simply rank a designers entry to allow revisions to be uploaded.

Discussion Guidelines:

1. Designers and Contest Holders please always be respectful of each other, we all have the same goal.

2. Please do not criticize any design publicly, these discussions should only be held in private.

3. Designers may not post any external links to any designs.

4. Please do not ask a contest holder to view your designs or discuss any other designs.

5. Designers can not discuss copied designs on the contest pages and may submit a Logo Dispute to the Admin only.
